Our space

A home for artists and creatives in Hargeisa, free and open to you. Come to work on your ideas, rehearse, record, paint or share what you have made.

Companies, NGOs and other organisations can book a single space or the whole venue for their own events.

Each space serves a different purpose, and all are available to book.

The courtyard

Our open-air stage under a roof, with a red curtain, lights, sound and seats for a big audience. The Film Fest, the open mic and Shaah iyo Shaxan happen here.

The gallery

Where local artists hang their first or their next show. We help with the hanging, host the opening night and bring the audience.

The workspace

A free place to sit down and work. Members come in with a laptop or a sketchbook every day, and most of our workshops are taught here.

The studio

Lights, backdrops and cameras for portraits, interviews, podcasts and video. Members use it for their own work, and we take paid jobs here.

The audio room

A closed room for recording a voice, a song or a podcast episode without the noise from the courtyard.

The library

Books on art, film, photography and Somali culture. Members read and research here during the day.

The ateliers

Easels, tables and room to leave a painting half done and come back to it next week.

The gift shop

Paintings, prints, baskets, carvings, jewellery and books, all made in Somaliland. The maker gets most of the price.

Members borrow equipment for their own projects. Ask at the desk or write to us.
